Requirements

• Works with Filemaker Version 5.5 through Version 8
• You must have a copy of the new FaxConsole plugin.
• You must have a fax modem installed in your system
• You must have the Free Adobe Reader installed on your system.
• You must enable the Microsoft Fax on your Windows XP machine.  Free with Windows XP

Sending Faxes from Filemaker

Create 2 fields in your solution. You will need a Fax number field and a Path field to tell the plugin where the PDF file is located.

With Filemaker Pro 8 you can create a PDF natively from filemaker. Create the PDF file to a directory on your hard drive. Trigger the send fax plugin and your pdf will be sent to the specified Fax number using the Microsoft Fax Console. This can be used as a single command or in a scripted loop.

With Filemaker Pro 5.5 through version 7 the process is a little different. You must use a 3rd party program to be able to create pdf files. An excellent product is PDF factory from FinePrint. You print to PDF Factory from filemaker. Create the PDF file to a directory on your hard drive. After your PDF file is created , trigger the send fax plugin as above.
